Your Word is Truth

Two quotes from Bethel’s Bill Johnson vs the Bible

Posted on: January 27, 2010

Jesus is returning for a bride whose body is in equal proportion to her head.

The more church realizes who she is, the less she wants to be rescued.
Bill Johnson from Echofon (on his Twitter account)

Philippians 3:20-21 says…But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
So we are to eagerly await our Saviors “rescue” and then we will be changed – He won’t find us perfect when He returns but will “transform” us right then and there.
Part of the bondage of the “river” movement of far out charismaticism is that we must strive to  become full on “manifested sons of god.”  In other words they believe that they can become perfect on earth as more of heaven “invades” them.

Instead, the Bible says that we are to look to the future and at the same time press towards the goal of knowing Christ and serving Him better each day.  We may fail Him from time to time but our blessed hope is in Him and not ourselves becoming “super Christians.”  I have had many friends in the river movement believe that they would one day defeat sin and be completely healed and be able to levitate off the ground and then Jesus could come back for them because they had been “perfected.”  If you believe this then you are under a works based bondage that is a lie from hell!

The Bible says this…in Titus 2:13…
while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,

The cry of the persecuted church in Revelation was always and should be today…come quickly Lord Jesus…

Spread the Word!

Ben- thanks for the reply – can you give me your reaction to this article written by an elderly lady who was the wife of an AOG pastor for many years and was an eye witness to much that went on in the Pentecostal world over the last sixty years? http://docs.google.com/View?id=dfhwrxb8_754kfcjbshfLet me know what you think – thanks Rod

Ben,I have a few questions:What “things” were not being practiced in the church before the “Latter Rain” (LR) movement that “God opened our eyes to see”?What good things came out of LR?What is your definition of MSOG doctrine?I didn't label men as heretics and “say they are going to hell”. I named what I believe is a heretical doctrine.I think that we can interact well in this venue so there is no need to meet.desean

Ben,I hope that your silence means that you are busy? I came across this definition of Dominionism.""Dominionism (aka Kingdom Now theology) is the heretical idea that the church, not Jesus will bring righteousness to this world. It is based on many false teachings, not the least of which is the belief in a great end time revival. In dominionist doctrine this great end time revival will be led by a group of ‘super Christians’ who have reached a state of sinless perfection in the flesh, thereby empowering them to do great miracles. This sinless company of believers (sometimes known as the manifest sons of God, the manchild company, the bride of Christ, or the latter rain company) will in turn be led by a group of restored apostles and prophets. These apostles and prophets will have the power to speak on Gods behalf to all believers and to the world.""Is this the definition that you would agree with?desean
